The library… a very dangerous place. I went in to just borrow Fiddler on the Roof (my second most favorite musical) and came out with library books. #bookloverproblems I also included some books I bought at the library (secondhand, of course) as well as some new Kindle buys.

So yeah… I went shopping again. My local Goodwill bookstore had a sale going on (think discount on already discounted books), so you know I had to hit that up! I think I spent a total of $15 in total. Not a bad deal, if you ask me. Also, I had a gift card for Target so you know that the gift card went towards books. Priorities. Here’s my haul:

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

Rebel Angels by Libba Bray

Let it Snow by John Greene, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle

Night by Elie Wiesel

East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Beyond the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I yet again caved in to the alluring power of the Goodwill bookstore. Today, I found a lot of Young adult books. It was as if someone came and donated their whole Young Adult collection. Thank you to you, whoever you are!

Northanger Abbey and Other Works by Jane Austen

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Beautiful Darkenss by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray

If you have read any of these, please let me know what you thought!

So, Barnes and Noble happened last Friday night. Ended up going to B & N to kill time before going to see The Grand Budapest Hotel (I highly recommend this film). I just wanted to see what they had in stock. Bad idea. Came out with these two. However, it could have been so much worse. I really wanted to buy 6 books, but I exercised some (very minimal) self-restraint and only purchases these. Flight Behavior was only $6.98, so I call that a win. #allidoiswin

Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

What have you purchased recently?

Yikes. Target strikes again. I seriously cannot leave that store without buying things I don’t really need. I went in just for plastic bags. I should have known better. Anyways, I did end up buying 3 books that I have had on my Amazon Wishlist for quite some time. Plus, Clash of Kings was only…. *drum roll*… $1.26!! What a steal! How could I pass that up? It is a little beat up, but I don’t really mind. Here are the titles that I bought today.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin

Since I took a sick day yesterday due to the flu, I decided to go to the library and check out some books for the Bout of Books 10.0 read-a-thon. I’ve been meaning to get some graphic novels since it’s something that has always captured my attention, but I really have never picked them up. As an Asian Studies major, American Born Chinese and Boxers and Saints by Gene Luen Yang just seemed like a perfect introduction into this genre.

Some of these might get read before the read-a-thon since they are due in 3 weeks. We shall see. Here are the spoils of my trip.

The Next Queen of Heaven by Gregory Maguire

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler (Art by Maira Kalman)

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang

Boxers and Saints by Gene Luen Yang
